The Rockville man charged in the killing of his neighbors is expected to be transferred back to Montgomery County sometime next week, according to Montgomery County police.

Police spokeswoman Natasha Plotnikov said Friday that county officers plan to travel to Juneau, Alaska, this weekend in order to help bring back the suspect, Scott Tomaszewski, 31, of Rockville.

Police charged Tomaszewski with two counts of first-degree murder and other counts Sunday in the killing of Julianne and Richard Vilardo. Police say Tomaszewski confessed to the killings after being arrested last week on a cruise ship in Alaska. The suspect was on the cruise ship with his parents, who he lived with in Rockville, on the same street as the Vilardos, according to police.

Richard Vilardo, 65, and his wife, Julianne, 67, were found stabbed to death May 10 at their home on Ridge Drive.

Detectives say they found blood-stained money and other possible evidence on the cruise ship linking Tomaszewski to the crime.
