Chevy Chase Village police say thieves entered an open garage on Grove Street and stole two bicycles Sunday afternoon.

Police say the three young men, who were recorded by the victim’s surveillance camera, were riding their own bicycles in the neighborhood at 4:15 p.m. when one of them turned into the driveway at a residence in the 5400 block of Grove Street. The young man then abandoned his bike behind the house and took a silver Trek 5000 road bike, valued at an estimated $5,000, from the open garage and rode away.

About a minute later, the other two men dropped off their own bicycles and entered the garage. One took a white Specialized Tarmac road bike, also valued around $5,000. The third man took one of the bicycles that was left behind by his companions and all three then rode away, according to police.

On Tuesday, police released photos of the suspects as well as pictures of the bikes they left behind at the residence.
