Highs in the 80s this week – Today’s high is expected to reach in to the mid-80s and it should be sunny, according to the National Weather Service. There’s a chance of thunderstorms Tuesday with a high near 83 and low of 64. Cooler days are predicted for Wednesday and Thursday with highs in the upper 70s and nighttime lows around 57 degrees. The work week ends with a sunny Friday and high of 80, according to the weather service.
Hearing in Darvish case – A scheduling hearing is set to take place Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. in the case involving Tamara Darvish, who is suing her father and family-owned company, Darcars. Darvish is claiming that her father and two half-brothers have unfairly cut her out of the automotive empire.
County Council liquor control committee to meet – The committee is scheduled to meet at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 8 to discuss the implementation of the Department of Liquor Control’s (DLC) new ordering and inventory system. At the committee’s last meeting on March 6, committee members discussed a number of inventory problems ranging from theft allegations to not knowing where product is on the warehouse floor. The DLC is responsible for the wholesale distribution of wine, beer and liquor in the county.
Woodmont Triangle restaurant plans opening – Barrel and Crow—an American concept by two former Grapeseed Bistro managers—is scheduled to open Friday at the former location of Freddy’s Lobster + Clams at 4867 Cordell Ave. in Bethesda.
