Barrel and Crow, a new American restaurant featuring mid-Atlantic and southern cuisine, is set to open next week in Bethesda.
Former Grapeseed managers Patrick Forest and Laura Houlihan are behind the concept that will fill the Cordell Avenue location formerly occupied by Freddy’s Lobster + Clams.
Houlihan said Thursday they plan to open the restaurant on Friday, May 8. The new owners have fully renovated the space, including the outdoor patio to give it a more rustic look.
The dinner menu features appetizers like braised pork cheeks and fried green tomatoes and entrees such as beer braised beef short rib and fried chicken and waffles.
The restaurant is adjacent to Grapeseed, where Houlihan formerly worked as the bar manager for 12 years, while Forest worked there for two years as the general manager before they decided to open Barrel and Crow.
