Expect delays on Rockville Pike in Bethesda today—President Barack Obama is scheduled to visit Walter Reed National Military Medical Center this afternoon.
According to Obama’s official schedule, he will depart the White House around 3:20 p.m. and arrive in Bethesda around 3:35 p.m. He’ll then visit Walter Reed—an event that’s closed to the press—and then is expected to depart Bethesda around 5 p.m. and return to the White House.
The visit is expected to affect traffic on Rockville Pike between Jones Bridge Road and Cedar Lane during the afternoon, according to Ken Hartman, the director of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center.
