The decision about whether to go out for Cinco de Mayo next week may be a little easier—Barwood Taxi has joined the Washington Regional Alcohol Program to offer free taxi rides on the night of May 5.
The SoberRide program will offer customers a free taxi ride up to a $30 fare in Montgomery County anytime between 4 p.m. on May 5 until 4 a.m. on May 6.
The free taxi rides will only be available to callers who use the SoberRide number 1-800-200-8294, so don’t try to call Barwood directly.
SoberRide operates in the greater Washington D.C. area and traditionally offers free rides home on high-risk holidays like New Year’s Eve, St. Patrick’s Day, Independence Day and Halloween. This is the first time in the organization’s more than 20 year history it’s offering free rides on Cinco de Mayo.
Cinco de Mayo is a traditionally Mexican holiday that celebrates the Mexican army’s defeat of the French in The Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
