The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Montgomery County and much of Maryland as possibly severe thunderstorms move into the area.
Currently, the watch is in effect until 10 p.m. It was issued at 3:05 p.m.
The weather service reports the thunderstorms are expected to move into the area this afternoon, “A few of the thunderstorms may become severe with a threat of damaging wind gusts… large hail and an isolated tornado.”
