Lewis Black, Comedian
Known for his over-the-top rants and finger pointing, the comedian was raised in Silver Spring and graduated from Springbrook High School. Black serves as a regular on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart in acerbic “Back in Black” segments. He was one of the first contributors to the show, first appearing in 1996. WTOP quoted Black reflecting on the growth of his hometown of Silver Spring. “It was like a village in comparison to what has become a major city. It went from nothing to huge,” Black told the radio station. “The Metro made a big change in terms of that.”
