Does the nice weather have you itching for seat on a rooftop patio where you can eat snacks and sip drinks while basking in sunshine?
Next week, you’ll have your chance. Urban Heights, the new Robert Wiedmaier restaurant that is replacing Roof Bethesda on Norfolk Avenue now plans to open Thursday, April 23.
Robert Wiedmaier said Thursday, Chef Cliff Wharton, formerly of the now-closed Washington, D.C., establishment TenPenh, has created a small-plates menu for the restaurant. Wiedmaier said he and Wharton have long been friends.
In Bethesda, the RW Restaurant Group also operates Mussel Bar and Grille, Wildwood Kitchen and the recently acquired former Markham’s Bar and Grill space, which the company reopened Thursday night as the rock ‘n’ roll music venue Villain & Saint.
Editor's Note: This post has been updated to reflect that the restaurant's opening night will be Thursday April, 23. Although sources from the restaurant originally told Bethesda Beat it would open on April 24, the opening date was later changed to Thursday, April 23.
