MoCo Appeals Purple Line Fence Case — Lawyers for Montgomery County have appealed a Circuit Court ruling in favor of Ajay Bhatt, the Chevy Chase resident and president of an anti-Purple Line group who built a backyard fence in the path of the planned light rail system. The county asked the Maryland Court of Appeals to take up the case, the result of which could affect many properties along Purple Line path. [Washington Post]

Barve Raises $66,000 For Congressional Bid — Del. Kumar Barve raised a little more than $66,000 in March for his bid to take over the House seat being vacated by Rep. Chris Van Hollen. The longtime state legislator from Gaithersburg tapped into his network of Indian-American supporters and appears to have a fundraising advantage over other Democratic candidates who haven’t formally begun their campaigns. Citizens Advisory Board Meets In Garrett Park — The Western Montgomery County Citizens Advisory Board will meet on Monday at 7 p.m. at the Town of Garrett Park Town Hall (10814 Kenilworth Avenue). Councilmember Nancy Floreen will take part.
