The patient infected with the Ebola virus who is being treated at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda was upgraded by doctors Tuesday from fair to good condition.

NIH announced the change in the patient’s condition in a news release, but provided no other information about the patient.

The patient is an American health care worker who was infected with the virus while working at a volunteer Ebola treatment unit in Sierra Leone. The patient arrived at NIH on March 13 and has been receiving treatment in a specialized isolation unit.

Texas nurse Nina Pham was the previous Ebola patient to be treated at the facility. She was declared free of the virus and released about 10 days after being admitted to NIH.
