Weekend Events: Biz Markie Dance Party; Baby Bazaar

80s vs 90s Dance Party – Saturday, 8 p.m. – Fillmore Silver Spring

A 90s cover band will face off against an 80s tribute band at the Fillmore Saturday night, and it’ll be hosted by your “just a friend” Biz Markie. The show begins at 8 p.m. and tickets are $22 in advance.

Indoor Baby Bazaar – Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Montgomery County Agricultural Center, 16 Chestnut Street, Gaithersburg

The indoor market will feature a variety of baby merchandise including clothes, shoes, toys, games, strollers and bedding. Admission to the event is free. Vendors interested in selling goods at the event can purchase a space for $25 each.

Bob McDonald sings Brodway – Saturday, 8 p.m. – AMP by Strathmore, 11810 Grand Park Avenue

Baritone Bob McDonald will sing songs from plays he’s been featured in the past ranging from Sunday in the Park with George to Sweeney Todd. McDonald has performed at the Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, and Signature Theater. Tickets are $25 to $33.

Miss Habesha Beauty Pageant – Friday, doors open at 5:30 p.m. – Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club

Ethiopian-American women will be competing for the title of “Miss Habesha USA 2015” and for $2,500 in cash and prizes in this beauty contest at the Bethesda entertainment venue. Tickets are available at the box office for $45.

A small convention designed for fans of anime gaming and Japanese pop culture takes place at the Hilton Rockville this weekend. T-Mode includes presentation, costumes, anime screenings and video gaming sessions. The event is members only and you must purchase a badge to attend. Badges range from $55 to $180.
