Ervin, Gutierrez Jumping In To Congressional Race — Former County Councilmember Valerie Ervin said she’s set to announce soon that she’ll be running for Chris Van Hollen’s 8th District congressional seat. Hogan Says Madaleno Should Be ‘Ashamed Of Himself’ — Gov. Larry Hogan won’t be enacting a ban on state-funded travel to Indiana after that state’s controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act. Hogan also didn’t like that State Sen. Richard Madaleno referenced his wife Yumi Hogan’s divorce in Madaleno’s letter asking for the ban. [WAMU]
Students Get Access To Secure File At Middle School — Officials at Westland Middle School said students somehow got access to a secure computer file with names, locker numbers and locker combinations for the school’s 1,400 lockers. A substitute teacher saw students making copes of the list on Tuesday. The school will switch each combination over spring break. Local Fast Casual Concept Gets Funding Boost — Cava Grill, the fast casual spinoff of Rockville restaurant Cava Mezze, got $16 million in venture funding and is planning an expansion in Los Angeles. The Greek eatery opened its first Cava Grill location in 2011 on Bethesda Row. [Washingtonian]
