MoCo Putting ‘Transit Screen’s At County Buildings — Montgomery County hopes to install transit screens at regional service centers, libraries, recreation centers and other public buildings across the county. The screens provide real-time information about all public transit options near a particular location. MCPS Students Still Failing Math Exams At High Rates — More than 15,000 MCPS high schoolers failed a math final exam in January and numbers class-by-class are similar to failure rates of previous years. Some continue to say a grading policy that allows students to pass the classes without passing the exam are to blame. [Washington Post]
Athletic Fields Will Open Tomorrow — Montgomery Parks will open all athletic fields in parks and at elementary and middle schools tomorrow. The field openings were delayed from March 15 because of the unusually wet and cold winter. [Montgomery Parks]
Planning Board Spots Are Up — The terms of Planning Board Chair Casey Anderson and Planning Board Commissioner Norman Dreyfuss expire on June 14. The County Council is seeking applicants to fill the two spots, though both Anderson and Dreyfuss will apply for reappointment to a second term. The Council chose to promote Anderson from a commissioner seat to Planning Board chair just last year. Applications are due Wednesday, April 29. [Montgomery County Council]
