Nephew Plotted To Kill Montgomery County Judge, Police Say — Hugo Albornoz, a 35-year-old Chevy Chase resident, allegedly plotted to kill his uncle, a Montgomery County judge, and torch his million-dollar Bethesda home. Police said Abornoz revealed the plan to his father, who called the county’s Crisis Center. Albornoz was then arrested. His uncle is Circuit Court judge David Boynton. Police gave no reason for why Albornoz allegedly plotted the killing. He was charged with two counts of Threatening to Injure a State Official and faces up to six years in prison. [ABC7]
Experts, Business Owners Talk Pesticide Ban — Turf management experts, organic lawn business owners and a manager from Montgomery Parks are scheduled to take part in a panel on the County Council’s proposed pesticide ban. Montgomery Parks, which manages nearly 300 playing fields countywide, has said it must use certain pesticides that would be banned by the law in order to keep playing fields playable.
