Purple Line Could Lose Connecticut Avenue Bridge — MTA officials say Purple Line features such as the light rail bridge over Connecticut Avenue could be on the chopping block to make the project cheaper, according to politics blog Seventh State. The blog reported that the MTA’s Henry Kay told a meeting of Montgomery County delegates that the bridge is an example of the type of cuts that a private concessionaire bidding for the project could propose. Environmental Group Still Against Pepco Merger — The Chesapeake Climate Action Network says Exelon and Pepco’s settlement agreement with Montgomery County “continues to fail to offer any significant new commitments to clean energy development and energy efficiency.” Exelon is hoping for approval from state regulators to complete its purchase of Pepco.

Stella Barra Opening For Weekend Lunch — On Sunday, April 11, Stella Barra Pizzeria will open for weekend lunch running from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The restaurant (11825 Grand Park Avenue) opened earlier this year in Pike & Rose and will also offer a “Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar” for $10.
