Round House Theatre’s schedule for 2015-2016 includes plays about a down-and-out Irish man who rescues a woman from a violent attack, the story of a slave who fights in the Civil War and the classic “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.”
The theatre will host the world premiere of “Ironbound” a story about a Polish immigrant who pursues either love or security in her relationships with men as well as the regional premieres of “Stage Kiss”, “Father Comes Home from the Wars”, “The Who & The What” and “The Night Alive.”
“This new season is one of the most exciting and ambitious in our history,” said Ryan Rilette, Round House Theatre’s producing artistic director. “Our goal was to find six plays that highlight what Round House does best: Outstanding ensemble acting. These are big, juicy stories that demand our actors to honesty and ferociously attack them.”
The 2015-2016 season officially beings with the premiere of Martyna Majok’s “Ironbound” on Sept. 9.
In addition to the six plays, Round House will also host a four-day stage combat workshop called Belle of the Brawl from Oct. 22 to 26. Season subscriptions start at $99.
The following is Round House Theatre’s description of the plays for the 2015-2016 season:

Art imitates Life. Life imitates Art. When two actors with a history are thrown together as romantic leads in a forgotten 1930s melodrama, they quickly lose touch with reality as the story onstage follows them offstage.
