Upscale furniture and houseware retailer Williams-Sonoma will replace a pair of outgoing restaurants at Bethesda Row.
The San Francisco-based company will take the place of Parker’s (4824 Bethesda Avenue) and next-door Tara Thai (4828 Bethesda Avenue). The two restaurants will be leaving their spots when their leases run out at the end of March.
Williams-Sonoma spokesperson Carrie Crespo-Dixon told BethesdaNow.com an opening date has not been finalized.
Shortly after Bethesda Magazine reported the restaurants would be leaving, property owner Federal Realty got county permits for an interior demolition to modify both spaces.
Williams-Sonoma is currently leasing a 2,500-square-foot lower level Bethesda Row space.
The move into a ground-floor retail space will be just part of the company’s beefed up presence in downtown Bethesda. Williams-Sonoma brands Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids are set to open in a 17,900-square-foot space on the ground floor of the new Lot 31 project, just a short walk away along Bethesda Avenue.
