Temperatures predicted in the mid-60s – It’s not spring yet, at least not until Friday, but it should feel like it Monday and Tuesday. The National Weather Service predicts temperatures today and tomorrow will reach the mid-60s and drop to around 46 degrees at night. There’s a chance of showers Tuesday afternoon. The air will cool off Wednesday, when a sunny high of 45 is predicted. Thursday is expected to be cloudy with a high near 46 degrees and spring officially starts Friday with a high near 50 and a chance of rain.
Pesticide experts to discuss bill with Montgomery County Council – Two panels of experts will share their knowledge about pesticide regulations in the U.S. before the county council’s Transportation, Infrastructure, Energy and Environment Committee Monday morning. The controversial bill has raised questions about whether the county should go above and beyond pesticide regulations managed by the federal Environmental Protection Agency. Residents have testified in public hearings the bill may limit their ability to grow a lush green lawn, while the bill’s chief sponsor, Council President George Leventhal, says the federal government doesn’t go far enough to regulate highly toxic pesticides that can harm humans, pets and the environment. The hearing begins at 9:30 a.m. and can be watched live online.
Budget unveiling – County Executive Ike Leggett will present his recommended fiscal year 2016 operating budget and highlight next year’s budget priorities on Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the Executive Office Building on Monroe Street in Rockville. The presentation will begin the process of formulating the 2016 budget, which is may include cuts as the county is expecting a nearly $150 million revenue shortfall. Once Leggett recommends his budget, the county council will take it up and consider changes before formally approving it.

Flanagan’s Harp & Fiddle, at 4844 Cordell Avenue, will be serving breakfast starting at 9:30 a.m., the 19th Street Band will take the stage at 2 p.m. and play all night. Union Jack’s at 4915 St. Elmo Avenue is offering $1 Killians during the day, which will cost $3 after 4 p.m. as well as a free Irish breakfast from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.
