Md. Transportation Chief Wants Lower-Cost Purple Line — At an event last week with his counterparts from D.C. and Virginia, Maryland Transportation Secretary Pete Rahn said he wants “a good Chevy,” not a Cadillac when it comes to the estimated $2.5 billion Purple Line light rail. Rahn said he’s asked the four private concessionaires bidding for the project to come up with ways to make the project cheaper. “We are confident that we can drive costs out,” Rahn said. Gay Minister Finds Acceptance At Bethesda Church — Greg Stewart, his husband and adopted children have moved all over the country as Stewart pursues his career as a minister. On Sunday, he was officially installed as the youth and family minister at the Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church and said he has found a new level of acceptance in his new community.
