B-CC High Basketball State Title Game – Saturday, 8 p.m. – Xfinity Center, College Park
The Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School Barons will be playing for the 4A state championship Saturday night in College Park. The Barons made it to the finals with a thrilling last-second basket to win Thursday night 58-57 against DuVal. The Barons will take on Anne Arundel County’s Meade High School in the finals. Meade beat Silver Spring’s Springbrook High in a dominant 81-47 win Thursday. The championship game starts at 8 p.m. and tickets to the game are $10 online.
Rock n’ Roll for Children Annual Bash – Saturday, 7 p.m. – Bethesda Blues and Jazz Supper Club
An eclectic group of rock and roll musicians will play a concert Saturday night to benefit The Children’s Inn at NIH. Performers include Ricky Byrd of Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Simon Kirke of Bad Company, Mark Rivera of the Billy Joel Band and many others. Tickets range from $75 for general admission to $400 for VIP admission that includes sound check access, autographed memorabilia and an open bar. Proceeds will benefit The Children’s Inn, which provides cutting-edge medical treatment to children after conventional treatments have failed.
15th Annual Gaithersburg St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Saturday, 10 a.m. – Lakefront Plaza (RIO Washingtonian)
Get your Irish on Saturday in Gaithersburg. The city is hosting its 15th annual Gaithersburg St. Patrick’s Day Parade from 10 a.m. to noon at the Rio Washingtonian Center, 9811 Washingtonian Blvd., Gaithersburg. The parade is being put on by the Shamrock Society of Gaithersburg and will feature bagpipers, dancing, music and merchant specials.
AMP’s Second Weekend – Friday, Saturday shows at 8 p.m. – AMP by Strathmore, 11810 Grand Park Avenue, North Bethesda
AMP, the new concert venue at Pike & Rose, will host two acts this weekend after celebrating its grand opening last weekend. Hitting the stage on Friday night will be the Loston Harris Trio, a tribute to Frank Sinatra. Tickets to that show are $35. On Saturday night, Sean McDermott, Erin Davie and Eleasha Gamble will sing songs written by Harold Arlen who composed songs for The Wizard of Oz including the classic “Over the Rainbow” as well as dozens of other hits in the 1930s, ‘40s and ‘50s. Tickets to the show are $30.
Learn Organic Lawn Care – Saturday, 3 p.m. – Chevy Chase Town Hall
Paul Tukey, the chief sustainability officer at Glenstone in Potomac, will lead a forum Saturday afternoon on how to keep a lawn green and kill pests without using toxic chemicals. Tukey is the author of “The Organic Lawn Care Manual” in which he writes that well-treated soil and grass properly fed with compost and natural fertilizers leads to a great lawn. Andy Grammer and Alex & Sierra – Saturday, 8 p.m. – Fillmore Silver Spring
Pop musician Andy Grammer will perform at Fillmore with X-Factor winners Alex & Sierra Saturday night in Silver Spring. Grammer, a formerly trained musician whose hit “Keep Your Head Up” has elevated his profile since it was released in 2011, released his second album Magazines or Novels in 2014. Tickets are $26.50.
