B-CC Boys, Whitman Girls Headed To State Semifinals — The Whitman High School girls basketball team continued its undefeated season with a 73-60 win in its region final against Wootton. Whitman will play defending state champion Eleanor Roosevelt at 3 p.m. on Thursday at Towson University. The Bethesda-Chevy Chase boys basketball team continued its turnaround season by beating Magruder 55-52 in overtime to win its first region title since 2008. Kumar Barve First Official Candidate For Van Hollen’s Seat — Del. Kumar Barve announced via Facebook on Monday that he will run for Chris Van Hollen’s open 8th District House seat in 2016.
