Talking growth – Councilman Roger Berliner is hosting a daylong symposium titled Infrastructure & Growth: Are We Keeping Pace? The event is set for Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School. Topics include school facility planning, transportation planning and funding and the capital budget. Solar arrays in parks– Montgomery Parks is inviting the public to comment on a proposal to install solar arrays in Rock Creek Regional Park and South Germantown Recreational Park. Officials say the proposed locations are on undeveloped land not suitable for recreational use. A public meeting is set for Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at the Montgomery Regional Offices building, 8787 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring.
Spelling bee – The Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy hosts its annual adult spelling bee fundraiser Thursday from 6:30-8:30 p.m., at the Montgomery College Cultural Arts Center in Silver Spring. Click here for more information.

Wednesday gets warmer, and wetter, with rain likely and temperatures reaching 51. Snow is likely to return Wednesday night and Thursday. Friday is expected to be sunny but cold, with a high near 32.
