Three new Asian restaurants and a day spa have filled out the remaining retail spaces in a downtown Rockville building.
The businesses complete the retail space at 275 North Washington St., a new mixed-use building anchored by Bank of America.
“This area offers a unique multi-ethnic dining and shopping experience that adds flavor and choices,” said Anthony Greenberg, a principal with Chevy Chase-based JBG Companies, which owns the building, in a press release.
The new businesses include Lavande Patisserie, a French-Asian farm-to-table café.
“Everything is fresh and purchased within 50 miles,” said Andrew Liang, of Gaithersburg, who owns the business with his mother Julie Yi. “Nothing is store-bought or pre-processed.”
The bakery plans to butcher its meats in-house, mill its own flour and make its own creams.
The other new businesses, all Asian-owned, are Kung Fu Tea, a New York-based franchise that specializes in tea drinks, Quickway Japanese Hibachi, part of a DC-based fast casual chain and Amber Day Spa.
They are part of a growing Asian business district in downtown Rockville, JBG officials say, with more Asian businesses located next door and three Asian markets within a mile.
