There will be no more free parking at the massive new Montgomery County public garage that opened in Bethesda in January.
Drivers will be charged for parking at the Capital Crescent Garage beginning Monday, March 2, according to the county’s Department of Transportation.
Motorists will be charged 80 cents an hour to park at the garage from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Friday, which is a standard rate for Bethesda. Weekend parking will remain free.
Like many other county garages, payment systems will be operating at the ticket gate, as well as in other areas of the garage.
The 960-space garage officially opened Jan. 20 at the corner of Woodmont and Bethesda avenues. Woodmont Avenue, which had been closed near the site of the major Lot 31 development project for two years, also opened that day.
