State Pushes Back Purple Line Deadline By 5 Months — Maryland has delayed the deadline for bids from private companies hoping to build the Purple Line by five months, from March 12 to August 19. State officials said the firms requested the delay to find cheaper ways to complete the estimated $2.45 billion project. Latest On Bike Lanes, Sidewalks Planned For Bradley Boulevard — The Montgomery County Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on March 2 at Pyle Middle School (6311 Wilson Lane) to update residents and others on its Bradley Boulevard improvement project. The project would bring a new sidewalk and shared use path to each side of the road from Wilson Lane to Glenbrook Road. It would also convert the road’s shoulders into bicycle lanes. [MCDOT]
