Montgomery County Police arrested a former karate teacher they say sexually abused a student who at the time lived in Chevy Chase.

Police arrested Jorge Raul Allica, also known as George Paul Allica, on Jan. 29 and charged him with “multiple counts of sexual offenses.”

Police said Allica, 56, engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with a male victim from 1984-1994 at his Silver Spring residence and the victim’s then-home in Chevy Chase. Police said they started the investigation last September, when they learned of the allegations.

During the investigation, police said another victim was found and detectives believe there could be more.

According to court records, police charged Allica with two counts of a first-degree sex offense, six counts of a second-degree sex offense and three counts of a third-degree sex offense. He was released from jail on bond on Feb. 2.

Police said Allica was an instructor at the Aikido Shobuken Dojo in the Takoma neighborhood of D.C. from 1983 to 1994. He also was a teacher in the Prince George’s County Public Schools system from 1989 to 1991.

Allica tutored and coached the first victim in another sport, police said.

The Montgomery County Police Department asked anyone with information regarding inappropriate contact Allica may have had with minors to call the Special Victims Investigation Division at 240-773-5460.
