Some of the area’s top restaurants will be serving soup for a good cause during lunchtime Thursday at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Supper Club.
The music venue will play host to the Empty Bowls event held in partnership with the Capital Area Food Bank in Washington, D.C. The Bethesda event brings together local artisans, who have created handcrafted bowls, with restaurants such as Black’s Bar & Kitchen, City Perch, Grapeseed, Mussel Bar & Grille and Cava Mezze, which will serve soups and breads.
Guests who donate a minimum of $25 will receive a bowl to keep and have the opportunity to try several soups and breads. The event runs from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bethesda club at 7719 Wisconsin Ave.
Bethesda Magazine, the jazz club and the Greater Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the event. This will be the eighth year of the annual Empty Bowls event, which serves as a fundraiser for the food bank and will be held at other venues in the metropolitan Washington area later this year.
