High winds likely led to a number of power outages around the region and in Bethesda, where three major clusters of outages have more than 2,000 Pepco customers without power Sunday morning.
The biggest outage stems from an unidentified cause in the neighborhood west of Fernwood Road and just south of the Beltway spur. There are 1,011 customers without power as of 7 a.m. Sunday, according to Pepco’s outage map.
Nearby, in the neighborhood just south of Democracy Boulevard and west of Old Georgetown Road, there are 879 Pepco customers without power. South of Greentree Road, another 286 Pepco customers are without power.
Pepco says its crews are on site of each outage, but has no estimated restoration time.
