The sales center is set to open soon for 142 “elevator townhomes” being built on the grounds around the historic Grosvenor Mansion in Bethesda.
Bethesda-based developer EYA is behind While the mansion on the site will remain, residents in the adjacent Fleming Park neighborhood oppossed the project during its approval process because of the removal of trees and concerns over new traffic.
The townhomes will start at $1.1 million and feature open floorplans, large windows and rooftop terraces with grills, fireplaces and 360-degree views of the surrounding woods. The sales center on the property (5430 Grosvenor Lane) will have a grand opening event on Saturday, Feb. 21.
“You just don’t find properties like this, well-located in the heart of Bethesda anymore and in the center of tremendous access both from the road network and from the Grosvenor Metro standpoint,” EYA President Bob Youngentob said in the promotional video above. “And you don’t have the opportunity to preserve as much of this site in a natural way as with Grosvenor Heights.”
The project will include a new street network and improvements to the existing Fleming Local Park.
It follows EYA’s Little Falls Place project on Little Falls Parkway. The developer is also planning a set of new townhomes in the middle of the Rock Spring office park and could be part of Equity One’s plans for a new-look Westbard shopping center.
“When we realized that the property was available for sale, I immediately became enthralled with the opportunity to do something really special here,” Youngentob said.
