Updated at 12:05 p.m. — A diesel fuel spill in a garage led to partial evacuations on Tuesday at North Bethesda Market.

MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer said three people were “contaminated” with the fuel, but there are no injuries and there’s no fire.

MCFRS responded to a report of a fuel spill a little after 10 a.m. at 11418 Rockville Pike, the Market East building that includes Montgomery County’s tallest tower.

Piringer said the diesel spill happened in a lower level parking garage and a diesel odor remains. According to emergency scanner traffic, 250 gallons of diesel fuel spilled on the lowest level of the garage.

A MCFRS Hazmat crew was working to contain the spill, which Piringer said was mostly done around noon.

Executive Boulevard and Marketplace Lane are closed for the fire department response between Woodglen Drive and Rockville Pike.
