Quincy’s South Bar & Grille Opens in North Bethesda
Restaurateurs Marty Magill and Jeff Greenberg opened Quincy’s South Bar & Grille at North Bethesda Market on Monday.
The new bar is similar in concept to the Quincy’s Bar & Grille that Magill opened in Gaithersburg in 2008. The restaurant has a casual feel with dark wood floors and a granite-topped bar. The bar seats 36, features 12 rotating taps and even has USB ports so patrons can charge phones. There’s also a large patio for outdoor dining and 18 flat-screen TVs inside the restaurant.
The menu offers pub grub—chicken wings, pizza, burgers and sandwiches. Prices range from $6 to $22 and happy hour runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. each weekday. The restaurant plans to offer live music four nights a week.
Quincy’s South is located at 11401 Woodglen Drive in North Bethesda, near the Whole Foods Market. Bethesda Now first reported the restaurant opening.
Jeff Black Continues His Search for a New Addie’s Location
We first reported in May that Black Restaurant Group owner Jeff Black was hoping to find a new location to re-open Addie’s in North Bethesda, but he was having trouble finding a place with a unique feel. On Wednesday, Black said the search is continuing. He toured Federal Realty’s new Pike & Rose development on Rockville Pike as a possible location, but decided it didn’t quite fit his concept. So here’s a heads up for local real estate agents: Black is looking in the general area of the former Addie’s spot at 11120 Rockville Pike for an older building with character that he can turn into a comfortable space.
Addie’s, the first restaurant opened by Black and his wife, Barbara, closed in November 2013 after negotiations with Black’s landlord to repair the Rockville Pike building fell through, according to Black. Longtime D.C. caterer Helen Wasserman later leased the former Addie’s building and is planning on fixing it up and opening it as a new restaurant called Helen’s The Bar. The permitting process for the new restaurant is moving along, according to Helen's Facebook page.

Burger 21 Looking to Expand to Montgomery County
Another burger franchise is looking to expand into the area. Burger 21, a chain founded by the owners of The Melting Pot restaurants, said in a press release Wednesday that it’s looking for franchisees in target cities, which include Bethesda, Silver Spring and Rockville as well as the District and Northern Virginia.
The company plans to provide information for possible franchisees at the Capital Franchise Expo on Nov. 1 and 2 at the Dulles Expo Center.
The restaurant offers 21 burgers ranging from beef to chicken, turkey, vegetarian, shrimp or tuna, as well as hot dogs, salads and a shake bar.
