GreenWich Closes, Leaving another Greenhill Property Vacant
The former Quiznos that rebranded itself as “GreenWich” after the national chain filed for bankruptcy has closed on St. Elmo Avenue in Bethesda’s Woodmont Triangle.
Owner Tim Lee operated the business as a Quiznos franchise from 2009 to July, when he rebranded the eatery after differences arose between him and the Quiznos corporation. Now the space is vacant and a Greenhill realty “for lease” sign is posted on its window.
Several Greenhill properties in the area remain vacant after closures over the past two years. Properties include the former Blackfinn location at the corner of Norfolk and Fairmont avenues, which the restaurant vacated in March. Also vacant are the Fresh Grill and Red Tomato locations on Fairmont and St. Elmo avenues; Greenhill owner Lenny Greenberg won a lawsuit this year against the developers of the adjacent Bainbridge Bethesda over the Fresh Grill building, claiming the construction damaged his property, and is in the midst of a lawsuit over the Red Tomato property. Greenhill presented plans to redevelop the buildings in August. The former Kraze Burgers spot at 4733 Elm St. near Bethesda Row has been empty since that business closed in January.

Momo adds new menu options, cuts chicken prices
Momo, the Korean fried chicken place on Cordell Avenue in Bethesda, has reduced the price of its friend chicken platters by $1 each and added new menu items. The new dishes include bulgogi tacos, pork buns, spicy bulgogi nachos, lettuce wraps, sweet and sour chicken and teriyaki-glazed chicken skewers.
General Manager Rose Kim said the restaurant is also offering half off the price of a given dish each week as part of an ongoing special. Many of the new items are included in the Momo sampler—which offers two kimchi quesadillas, a pork bun, a bulgogi slider, a bulgogi taco, two fried dumplings and two cheese wantons for $20.
