Police have arrested the 18-year-old nephew of a man found stabbed multiple times inside his residence Saturday afternoon in Gaithersburg.
Police said Russell David, 55, died from his injuries after being transported to an area hospital around 5 p.m. Police took David's nephew, Andrew David, into custody at the scene. Both men live at the residence in the 24100 block of Pecan Grove Lane where the stabbing occurred.
No charges have been filed as of yet in the case, but police say they believe a fight led to the stabbing. Police spokeswoman Rebecca Innocenti said detectives believe Andrew David stabbed his uncle, but the circumstances leading up to the stabbing remain under investigation. Detectives are now processing evidence and evaluating witness statements, according to Innocenti.
