Update – Monday, 10:45 a.m. – Police spokeswoman Rebecca Innocenti said this morning that police have not yet made an arrest in this case and detectives are continuing to search for a suspect.
Original Story – Friday, noon – Police are searching for a man who reportedly assaulted someone and sprayed mace inside a garage at Ourisman Honda in downtown Bethesda Friday morning after allegedly attempting to steal something, according to police spokeswoman Angela Cruz.
An Ourisman employee was injured in the incident, according to police.
Cruz said police had detained someone, but it wasn’t the right man and he was later released.
Police received the report around 10 a.m. and afterwards were searching the area around the dealership at 4800 Bethesda Ave. for the suspect.
Cruz said detectives are not releasing a description of the man at this time.
