Jetties, the sandwich and ice cream shop you may know from downtown Bethesda, is preparing to open a new location on Connecticut Avenue in Chevy Chase, D.C.

A “coming soon” sign is posted on the exterior windows at 5632 Connecticut Ave., which used to be the location of HomeMade Pizza Co. That restaurant closed sometime over the summer.

Jetties is known for its thick-cut turkey sandwiches, lobster rolls and big salads served with a variety of ingredients. The sandwich shop also has three locations in Northwest Washington, D.C.

The local restaurants are owned by Georgetown Events, which also operates Surfside in Glover Park (and is planning a new Surfside for Dupont Circle) as well as Bayou on Pennsylvania Avenue and Something Sweet, a cookies, cakes and treats store on Macomb Street in the District.

Ross Brickelmaier, the director of operations for Georgetown Events, said the location is planning to open sometime in early October.
