For 10 years Black Market Bistro has occupied the Victorian former post office next to the train tracks in Garrett Park. The restaurant is celebrating the milestone by featuring some of the most popular menu items it has offered through the years.

On Wednesday, the restaurant will offer a fixed-price $55 per person menu featuring dishes like fried calamari, butternut squash soup, pan seared monkfish, grilled strip steak and chocolate fudge cake. Guests can also get an optional $20 wine pairing. Gift bags will be given out as well.

The restaurant is part of the Black Restaurant Group and is owned by Jeff and Barbara Black, who started their local restaurant business on Rockville Pike with Addie’s in 1995, which closed last year. Black Market Bistro was the third restaurant they opened following Black’s Bar & Kitchen in downtown Bethesda.

In May, Jeff Black said he was searching for a new location for Addie’s somewhere near its previous location on Rockville Pike.

Reservations for the Black Market Bistro Sept. 24 event can be made by calling (301)933-3000. The restaurant is located at 4600 Waverly Avenue, Garrett Park, MD.
