Mary Chapin Carpenter is coming back to Bethesda—at least for two nights.
The country/folk star, who lived in the Bethesda area at the start of her music career, will appear Nov. 16 and 17 at the Bethesda Blues & Jazz Club as part of a tribute to longtime collaborator and Potomac resident John Jennings, who has cancer.
Musicians Robin and Linda Williams, Tift Merritt, Don Dixon and Marti Jones, and John Gorka will also perform during the tribute. Jennings, a music producer and performer, has produced albums for all of the performers.
A five-time Grammy winner, Carpenter wrote her hit song “Down at the Twist & Shout” based on time she spent at the Twist & Shout, a popular Woodmont Triangle bar, which closed in the 1990s.
Tickets to the tribute concert are available by clicking here. They range in price from $50 to $150.
