Naked Pizza announced this week its Bethesda location was closing temporarily and some other indicators suggest the closure might last a long time.
As reported by blogger Robert Dyer and Bethesda Magazine, the pizza chain that prides itself on high-quality ingredients announced via Facebook that it would be “temporarily closed for improvements.”
A sign on the door of the take-out restaurant (4914 Del Ray Ave.) says the same thing and encourages customers to try other locations in McClean, Reston, Ballston and Pentagon Row.
There’s been no date given for a reopening and, in what’s perhaps an ominous sign, Naked Pizza has pulled out of the annual Taste of Bethesda, set for Oct. 11.
A restaurant rep couldn’t be reached on Friday.
