Small Bites: Naked Pizza Closes for Renovations

Naked Pizza closes for renovations – Naked Pizza announced Tuesday it has closed its Bethesda location at 4914 Del Ray Ave. for temporary improvements. The regional pizza chain, which has three Northern Virginia locations as well, did not say when the Bethesda eatery would reopen. The regional supervisor has not responded to a request for comment.

Taylor Gourmet releases new fall sandwiches – The hoagie store on Woodmont Avenue in Bethesda is getting into the fall spirit with an updated menu. New sandwiches include the “Reading Terminal,” with roast beef, horseradish cream, caramelized onions, provolone and au jus; the “Penn’s Landing,” featuring cranberry chicken salad with Granny Smith apples, brie, toasted pecans and smoky pecan; and the “Spring Garden Street,” with breaded zucchini cutlets, goat cheese marinara sauce and arugula. Also, the shop is  bringing back its rib-eye cheesesteak, scheduled to return Oct. 1 to all Taylor locations.

Tyber Bierhaus to host Oktoberfest – Stop in at Tyber from Sept. 27 to Oct. 5 to “shoot the boot.” The German pub on Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda will serve liters of selected German beers in renowned glass “das” boots for $11 during Oktoberfest.

Perfect Pairings takes over Bethesda Row on Saturday afternoon – Sample more than 20 different wines from around the world at 10 different Bethesda Row merchants from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday during Perfect Pairings. Participating restaurants—including Jaleo, Lebanese Taverna and Mussel Bar & Grille, among others—will offer wine tastings and sample dishes.
