Rockville officials are holding a series of public meetings to discuss ways to make a two-mile stretch of Rockville Pike a more inviting place.

An open house is set for Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. at city hall to present the city planning commission’s draft plan. Four public meetings are scheduled to follow on Sept. 29, Oct. 27, Nov. 17 and Dec. 8.

The plan covers the corridor between Richard Montgomery Drive and Rockville’s southern border. City officials expect the 382-acre area to see a boom in homes and businesses over the next 25 years, joining expected growth in the nearby White Flint area.
