County Offers Free Vaccination Clinics to Help Handle Student Immunizations

More than 2,000 seventh grade students have not shown proof of required immunizations and will be excluded from school next week if they don't get them

Montgomery County once again reminded parents it has free immunization clinics scheduled over the next week as more than 2,000 students face being excluded from school for not being up to date on required immunizations.

Schools will exclude students who have not shown proof of required Tdap and Meningococcal immunizations next Monday.

To prevent this from happening, the county is encouraging parents to schedule an appointment at one of the county’s free clinics. There are also several walk-in clinics available to county residents in Rockville, Silver Spring and Germantown.

“Currently we have more than 2,000 students who have not provided proof that they have had the required immunizations,” said County Health Officer Dr. Ulder J. Tillman, in a press statement.  “There are multiple opportunities for parents to get their children vaccinated if they have not already done so.”
