A National Institutes of Health biochemist who went missing after leaving for work last month has been found dead in Allegany County, Montgomery County police said.

State troopers discovered the body of Martin John Rogers, 54, of Darnestown at about 1 p.m. Thursday after passersby noticed what appeared to be an abandoned vehicle near M V Smith Road, south of Interstate 68. Police say no foul play is suspected, but would not say if his death appeared to be suicide. No cause of death has been released, pending an autopsy report from the chief medical examiner in Baltimore.

Rogers  disappeared Aug. 21, sparking a search that stretched into West Virginia and Pennsylvania. Family members and friends became concerned about the disappearance of a man they said had predictable habits and appeared to be happy, the Gazette reported.
