The Bethesda Fire Department is scheduled to discuss its plans to redevelop Station No. 6 at the corner of Bradley Boulevard and Wisconsin Avenue later this month.
Fire department officials are inviting the public to come to two different meetings to discuss the proposal, one is scheduled for Sept. 11 and another Sept. 18, both are at the fire station at 7 p.m.
One proposal includes an eight to 10 story residential building with commercial space on the ground floor, according to the Town of Chevy Chase.
Fire department officials said in July they’re looking to redevelop the building to raise funds for the nonprofit volunteer fire department to eventually build a new station at the site. The station opened in 1969 and developing the valuable property could be a financial boon for the fire department.
