Bethesda Magazine announced Monday that it is forming a business unit to put on events for both consumer and business audiences.

Steve Hull, editor and publisher, said that Bethesda Magazine Events Group (BMEG) will produce a variety of events. “We will put on social and networking events, food-related events, informational and educational events for parents, and briefings and conferences for business people,” he said.

Hull said producing events is a logical next step for the magazine. “Events provide another platform for us to do what we’ve been doing for the last 10 years in the magazine: provide compelling, relevant and useful content to our readers,” he said.

Events will also provide Bethesda Magazine’s advertisers with another way to reach their target audience. “Through sponsorships and participation in events, our advertisers will be able to connect with our audience in an immediate and unique way,” Hull said.
