Blaze “Fast-Fire’d” Pizza will have its grand opening today at Westfield Montgomery mall in Bethesda. The fast-casual pizza chain, which has locations across the country, has been called the “Chipotle of pizza” for its assembly-line, pick-your-own-ingredients service style. Pizzas, which are cooked over an open flame in three minutes, cost less than $8 each, according to a company representative who spoke at the mall Wednesday. The restaurant is opening across from Aroma Espresso Bar on the mall’s first level.

AMP by Strathmore Releases New Renderings of Entertainment Space

The owner of AMP—the entertainment venue being constructed at the new Pike & Rose development in Rockville—showed off a few new renderings of the space this week. Although the renderings look more like an Instagram post than an architectural guide, they do reveal some of the characteristics that will make the space interesting: there will be table seating near the stage, a lounge where customers can grab a drink before or during the event and private event space. The 250-seat venue is scheduled to open for private events later this fall; live acts will begin performing next year, according to Federal Realty, the owner of the venue. Strathmore will serve as the operator of the venue.
