Two hate crimes reported in Potomac

Peeping Tom incident on Montrose Avenue

A resident in the 10400 block of Montrose Avenue reported a man was looking into a window of a residence around 12:30 a.m. Police did not provide a date, but described the suspect as a white male wearing light colored clothing who drove a four-door sedan, which was possibly gray.

Bank robbery on Norfolk Ave.

Someone robbed the M&T Bank at 7920 Norfolk Ave. on Aug. 7 around 1:50 p.m. Police released photos of a possible suspect after the robbery was reported.

Residential burglary on Highland Avenue

Property was taken from a residence in the 4500 block of Highland Avenue between Aug. 6 and Aug. 7.

Vehicles burglarized on Clarendon Road and Bradley Boulevard

Three vehicles were burglarized overnight from Aug. 4 to Aug. 5 while parked on Clarendon Road and Bradley Boulevard. The vehicles showed no signs of forced entry.

River Rx burglarized

A commercial burglary was reported at River Rx at 5257 River Road around 1:30 a.m. on Aug. 11 after someone forced their way into the business and took property.

Rockville

Weapons and drug arrest on Glen Mill Road

A 27-year-old Clinton man and a 30-year-old Washington D.C. woman were arrested on a weapons offense and a drug offense during a traffic stop near the intersection of Glen Mill Road and Darnestown Road in on Aug. 5 around 10:55 p.m.

Two hate crimes reported

Police received the first hate crime report at 2:40 a.m. when a caller made threats to the owner of Bennie’s Bar & Grill at 7747 Tuckerman Lane on Aug. 7. The owner, Benny Fischer, said someone threatened to kill him after he hung an Israeli flag outside the restaurant. The second hate crime involved offensive mail being sent to Beth Shalom, which is located at 11825 Seven Locks Road. The mail was received on Aug. 8.

National Spine and Pain Center burglarized

Property was taken from the National Spine and Pain Center at 5550 Friendship Blvd. after someone forced their way into the business overnight on Aug. 7 to Aug. 8.

Residential burglary on Spencer Road

Someone forced their way into a residence in the 2700 block of Spencer Road on Aug. 8 around 4:30 a.m. and took property.

Residential burglary on Taylor Street

Property was taken from a residence in the 3400 block of Taylor Street after someone forced their way into the home sometime between Aug. 5 and Aug. 10

Commercial burglary near Rock Creek Forest Elementary School site

Someone took property sometime overnight between Aug. 6 and Aug. 7 near the Rock Creek Forest Elementary School construction site at 8330 Grubb Road.
