Celebrity chef and restaurateur Bryan Voltaggio—who owns Range, Aggio and Lunchbox in the Chevy Chase Pavilion—was charged in June with driving under the influence in Baltimore. The incident was first reported by the Frederick News-Post on Friday.

Voltaggio is scheduled to appear for a trial at Baltimore City District Court on Sept. 19 at 9 a.m.

Online court records show Voltaggio, 38, a Frederick resident, was arrested at 12:20 a.m. June 6 on South Howard Street in Baltimore. Voltaggio opened his second Aggio three weeks later on June 28 at Baltimore’s Power Plant Live, located less than a mile from where he had been stopped by police.

Voltaggio gained fame after placing second on the sixth season of the Bravo reality show Top Chef in 2009. Voltaggio first opened VOLT in Frederick in 2008, then Family Meal in Frederick and Range at the Chevy Chase Pavilion in 2011.

Voltaggio's lawyer, as listed in court records, was not immediately available Tuesday morning to discuss the charges.
