The Maryland Fraternal Order of Police has endorsed state Sen. Brian Frosh for attorney general.
Frosh announced the endorsement on his Facebook page, writing, “Our courageous men and women in law enforcement put their lives on the line every day for us. It is an honor to earn their support.”
The state police union made a number of political endorsements as it wrapped up a three-day conference on Solomons Island Wednesday.
The Bethesda-based Democratic politician who represents District 16 has already been endorsed by local police unions in Prince George’s and Montgomery counties. Frosh is running against Baltimore County Republican Jeffrey Pritzker in the attorney general race.
The state FOP also endorsed Democratic gubernatorial nominee Anthony Brown. The Baltimore Sun reported that according to Brown’s campaign, the union’s rules required the support of 60 percent of the delegates in order to endorse a candidate.
