A car overturned after colliding with another vehicle on Veirs Mill Road Wednesday morning, trapping one person inside.
Firefighters extracted the person in about five minutes and transported the victim to a local hospital, said fire department spokesman Pete Piringer. The person did not appear to suffer life-threatening injuries, Piringer said.
The collision happened around 8:10 a.m. near the intersection of Veirs Mill Road and Twinbrook Parkway in Rockville.
Images from the scene show the silver sedan flipped onto its driver side with what appears to be a blue SUV next to it.
Montgomery County Police said Veirs Mill Road and westbound Twinbrook Parkway were shut down around 8:15 a.m. while emergency personnel worked at the scene. A traffic camera that shows the intersection of Veirs Mill at Twinbrook was showing heavy traffic on Veirs Mill around 9 a.m. Wednesday morning.
